Just some biographical details of the Battle for Australia Association Committee of Management
Geoff Brown is a graduate in Arts and Law from Sydney University.
He practised law for 35 years as a partner of a large Australian law firm, advising corporations and governments in commercial transactions and regulatory matters. Since retiring from legal practice, Geoff has been engaged in some legal and commercial consulting roles.
Geoff has also been involved in the not-for-profit sector since retiring from legal practice.
He is currently a member of the board of San Foundation Inc., a charity which supports the San Hospital at Wahroonga, the largest private hospital in NSW. He was a member of Steering Committee which assisted the San Foundation raise $20 million for the new San Integrated Cancer Centre at Wahroonga. Geoff also served for six years as a member of the Audit and Governance Committee of another not for profit organisation.
Geoff served for 10 years as a member of the Citizens Military Force where he attained the rank of Captain. He is a member of the Institute for Defence and Security Studies NSW (RUSI NSW).
Group Captain Doug Roser RAAF (Ret’d) has an extensive defence career, serving Australia in the RAAF as a Radio Engineering Officer and completing numerous postings including a 2 year exchange with Royal Air Force and JSSC. He also has a diverse background in the commercial sector as the Executive General Manager of AWA Defence and Communications Division, and later as the CEO of the Civil Aviation Authority, and an Independent Consultant for the ICAO.
Doug has been, and still is, an active participant in various defence and aerospace associations including the Council of the NSW Royal United Services Institution (RUSI), the Committee of the Centre for Engineering Leadership and Management Engineers Australia (CELM), and the Australian Society for Defence Engineering (ASDE) a Technical Society of Engineers Australia. He was also a member of the Congress of Engineers Australia from 2009 until 2013. Doug has been the Deputy President of the Battle for Australia Association of NSW since 2014 and was elected the President is October 2016. He is a Fellow of Engineers Australia and of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
